Sara Libman is a litigator with a passion for environmental law and improving access to justice within the Ontario and Canadian legal system. She is a licenced member of the Law Society of Ontario and was called to the Bar in 2019.
Sara is a proud Lakehead University Alumni. She obtained her Juris Doctor from the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law at Lakehead University in 2019. Because of Lakehead’s unique, hands-on “Integrated Practice Curriculum”, Sara was exempt from the articling requirement prior to becoming a licenced lawyer. Instead, Sara spent her 3 years of legal studies being immersed in practical assignments of drafting legal documents, negotiation exercises, and oral advocacy through mock trials. Furthermore, Sara completed a four-month placement in her third year at the Canadian Environmental Law Association, gaining knowledge and experience in environmental and constitutional law files.
Sara completed her undergraduate studies at Trent University (2016), obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental and Resource Studies (Honours), with an Emphasis in Law and Policy. It was during her studies at Trent that Sara became determined to become a lawyer to address environmental injustices and use her skills to fight for a more equitable world.
Sara is an avid reader, and thoroughly enjoys conducting legal research and writing. With a strong attention to detail and a fierce determination to see a project completed correctly and efficiently, Sara strives to advocate vigorously for her clients to obtain the best possible outcome.
When she isn’t working on law files, Sara can be found either out in the woods for a hike, or curled up indoors with a cup of tea and a good book.
